Lab Courier - Per Diem, Days/Evenings Flex

Job Title: Lab Courier

Department: Laboratory

Reports To: Outreach Supervisor

Job Summary: This position is responsible for delivering supplies and retrieving specimens from Outside offices, nursing homes and any other outreach business for Cayuga Medical Center Laboratory

Job Responsibilities include:

2. Follows courier schedule


3. Keeps courier cars clean and presentable at all times


4. Maintains and makes sure all supplies are delivered to correct offices and PSC's


5. Maintains universal precautions and infection control techniques as appropriate


6. Uses the MCE device properly and makes sure all dispatches are acknowledged during the day


7. Reports any repairs or needs for the vehicle to the supervisor or manager


8. Follows all New York State traffic laws and the facilities SOP for courier vehicles


9. Regularly utilizes Outlook to maintain current information and continuing education that must be accomplished


10. Is flexible and willing to make changes for the benefit of the team

Physical Demands: Repetitive use of hands (MCE device). Ability to move and lift heavy objects up to the weight of 20 pounds . Able to sit for long periods of time.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Previous driving experience preferred and good customer service skills

Licensure: NYS driver's license with clean record
