CLINIC COURIER
Schedule: PRN - Generally Days 930A-6P
The Clinic Courier is responsible for picking up and delivering specimens, reports and supplies to and from clinic sites and the BMC hospital. The position serves as a personal contact and a key representative of information and customer service to clinics and contributes to patient care by timely deliveries.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Transport supplies, specimens or reports to and from clinic sites and the Broadlawns Medical Center hospital in a safe and timely manner. Utilize BMC vehicles to transport according to assigned routes and appointment schedules. Provide delivery services as needed. Abide by all driving related laws including but not limited to speed limits and parking. Represent BMC in a consistently professional and courteous manner. Ensures vehicle interior and exterior is maintained in a clean manner. Check tires, oil and other fluids on assigned vehicle regularly. Ensure no electronic devices (i.e.: phone) other than GPS in use while vehicle is in motion. Must report any moving violations within 5 days of receiving. Support and embrace Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED required Understanding of the healthcare environment Possesses excellent verbal communication skills Customer service experience Good driving record, including no more than one moving violation in the last one year and no more than two moving violations in the prior 3 years and no DUI or DWI convictions Must be able to produce MVR upon hire and annually thereafter Valid State of Iowa Driver’s license
Prior transporting or courier experience Current Mandatory Adult Abuse reporter status
