The laboratory departments provide many services to our multi-clinic organization and outreach community including: blood collection, processing, testing, and reporting of results, spanning all disciplines of laboratory medicine.
The Laboratory Courier provides professional and courteous courier service to Vancouver Clinic and other Outreach clients. This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.
Part time 16 hours/week - Saturday-Sunday 6:30am to 3pm
Wage starting between $19.07-$22.86 placement in the range is based on an evaluation of experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Delivers and pick-up of reports and specimens between The Vancouver Clinic facilities and Outreach Clients.
Performs administrative duties including answering phones, complete and deliver operations and occurrence reports, and maintain and update courier schedules.
Practices client sensitivity and discretion at all times. Maintain confidentiality of patient and company information.
Performs care on The Vancouver Clinic vehicles, including cleaning and minor maintenance.
Adherence to policy and procedure for specimen handling and transport to maintain specimen integrity for high quality laboratory testing.
Fills supply orders for physician's offices and understands compliance policies.
Coordinates with laboratory staff, including Manager, Phlebotomist, and other couriers.
Participates in training and quality assurance programs and assist in training of other couriers.
Fills out problem identification forms and reports all client complaints/issues to manager.
Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting the organization’s corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violation of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all organizational investigations and proceedings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid Washington State driver's license required.
Employee motor vehicle record must meet acceptability standards regarding violations/accidents as determined by Vancouver Clinic.
Previous delivery or courier driver experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge of traffic patterns in the Vancouver metropolitan service area.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Pay Range:
